Emerging20

Emerging20 is an initiative to recognize and retain the exceptional young people of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky who are committed to shaping the region and making it a better place for everyone.

The Challenge

Despite being the birthplace of modern advertising, the corporate headquarters of Fortune 500 companies like P&G, Macy’s, and Kroger, and home to world class universities, Cincinnati loses creative and talented young people every year. Noticing our success in building community pride with Secret Cincinnati, Enquirer Media came to us looking for a way to retain the region’s young people.

The Solution

We created a social web platform that would give area high school students the opportunity to publicly leave a footprint for positive change by championing their work, helping them achieve their goals, and promoting their continued involvement in the community. Working with area non-profits, business leaders, and educators, Emerging20 is currently being piloted and is slated to launch during the 2011-2012 school year.

What I Did

I was responsible for developing partnerships, concepting the site’s functionality and user experience, and crafting top-level site messaging and content.
