BHDP

A national architecture firm with offices in Cincinnati, OH, Columbus, OH, and Raleigh, NC, BHDP has tripled its revenues and doubled its workforce in the past 10 years.

The Challenge

The third-generation architecture firm chose the Creative Department to continue their growth by evolving the brand identity, constructing corporate communications, and redesigning the company’s website and intranet.

The Solution

By conducting interviews with key stakeholders, we determined that the firm needed an identity refresh with a tagline that spoke to their way of doing business—”People-centric architecture.”

The Intranet, named Kiva for the Ancient Pueblo People’s communal space, was built on Microsoft Office Sharepoint 2007 and leveraged Exchange and other Microsoft collaboration tools.

The BHDP site has a very low volume of users so the initial strategy was to increase unique visitors by developing a site that delivers an experience to the visitor and exemplifies BHDP’s value proposition as an Experiential Design Firm. By creating curiosity while still promoting the brand, we made the site a pre-sales tool for the business development team.

The website was built in .NET to connect to Kiva (Intranet) to leverage content.

The website won the Web Marketing Association’s 2009 WebAward for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development as Best Architecture Site.

What I Did

I was responsible for crafting the Kiva name and the BHDP tagline, concepting the site’s functionality and user experience, and supervising site messaging and content.
